удаляет всплывающие окна, баннеры и другую рекламу на web-страницах.
Можно блокировать баннеры по адресам или размерам графической картинки.
Есть блокировка счетчиков и всплывающих рекламных окон. Также умеет
резать рекламу в других программах: ICQ, Morpheus, KaZaA, Grokster,
Opera, iMesh, Bearshare, LimeWire. Глядя на размеры дистрибутива
трудно поверить, что это фактически панацея от практически всевозможной
интернет-рекламы, кроме конечно ICQ-ботов, нежелательных e-mail писем
(SPAM) и данного вида контекстных ссылок. Программа существует уже не
первый год, и давно зарекомендовала себя высокой эффективностью в
комбинации с низким потреблением ресурсов. При прочтении системных
требований (Pentium 60 Mhz, 32 MB RAM, 1 MB на жестком диске) сегодня
можно только улыбаться, поскольку современные компьютеры далеко ушли от
первых настольных решений такого класса. Ad Muncher работает в режиме
proxy-сервера, с одной стороны контролирует весь трафик, и только после
обработки передает его браузеру или любому приложению, которое пытается
показать рекламу (например, тот же ICQ). Таким образом, последним вовсе
не нужны никакие дополнительные средства в виде специальных патчей.
Причем настраивать вручную ничего не надо, достаточно стандартных
установок.
